Three Places in the Bay Area to Visit on a Rainy Day

Rainy Day activities in the Bay Area

There is no denying it; colder winter days in the Bay Area are here! While many of us enjoy the first month of cozy days inside, the Bay Area winter can begin to feel long, and the damp winter breeze can make days outside not as pleasant. Today, we will talk about three places in the Bay Area to visit on a rainy day. Each of these places can be great for a family-filled day and are a massive hit with kids.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium, located in Monterey, California, is a massive hit for all ages. Because the aquarium constantly has new exhibits, activities, and events, this can be an excellent place to visit multiple times a year. This aquarium truly tailors to all ages and will have everyone in the family engaged and in awe. The Monterey Bay Aquarium even comes equipped with a nursing room! For more information, visit their website. Reservations are required.

The Children’s Discovery Museum

There truly is something for everyone at the Children’s Discovery Museum, although this is a children’s museum,  it is also a fun place for all ages. With mostly interactive exhibits, it’s a great place to act like a kid again! This museum is a massive hit for children between two and ten. It is a great place to stimulate little minds and help them to burn through some of that energy! Weekends can get very busy. If you would like to avoid the crowds, we recommend going during the week. For more information about the children’s discovery museum, check out their website.

The Exploratorium

The Exploratorium, located at pier 15 in San Francisco, was created for both children and adults to learn, explore, and have fun. This museum truly tailors to everyone. With more than 650 interactive exhibits, the Exploratorium is a great place to spend an entire rainy or cold afternoon. While the museum is tailored more for older children and adults, littles can find entertainment as well, and there is an area dedicated to small kids.
