Celebrating Valentines Day Home with a Newborn

Celebrating Valentines Day home with a newborn

Valentine’s Day: the American Halmkark day of love. Many spend this holiday reminding their beloved of their love and admiration. If you venture out on Valentine’s Day, you will often see couples waltzing the town and celebrating their love in different fashions. Typical valentine’s Day celebrations are a fancy dinner for two, sunset picnics, the movies, and so much more. But what happens when you’ve just had a baby? Today we are here to talk about celebrating valentines day at home with a newborn.

Make a new tradition

One fantastic way to feel close and connected with your partner is to make a tradition that just the two of you do. Sure, your first Valentine’s Day home with a newborn may not be the romantic night the two of you have shared in the past, but it doesn’t mean it won’t be memorable. This new tradition could be big or small; get creative!

Order your favorite take-out

There is nothing that says I love you quite like delicious food! Order food from your favorite restaurant if you feel like staying in and cozy! You could even request that someone close to you delivers food to your door. Talk about a date night in!

Write your loved one a letter

The days of letters seem to be coming to an end. But having a special piece of physical paper from your beloved is special. Consider writing your partner a small letter about what you love about them.

Rain check it for another day

The fun thing about holidays, just for two, is you can decide when they are celebrated—feeling overwhelmed by the idea of anything besides caring for your infant? Rain check the day for six months out! This, on its own, is creating your new tradition!
