Bay City Doulas Interview by Local Photographer Laura Michele

Interview by Laura Michele

As postpartum doulas, we are always looking for amazing resources for our clients. We consistently network with care providers as a local Bay Area business. It is always exciting to make a new connection in our community. Laura asked us to do a guest blog with her earlier this year, and we were delighted. Within minutes of our first conversation with Laura, it was clear that we share a mutual passion for supporting families. Laura stands out in the photography world because her work goes beyond photography alone. While her main goal is photography, she provides her clients with resources to help postpartum. We are excited to share more about Laura and her work in the future. This week, we are here to share Laura’s recent blog post about us. We hope you enjoy this week’s blog, an interview by local photographer Laura Michele.

How a Postpartum Doula in the Bay Area Helps Support New Families: An Interview with Bay City Doulas

The time right after giving birth is a huge transition period. Not only are parents getting to know the new human they created, birthing people are also recovering from an event that had a significant impact on their bodies, usually with very little sleep. As a bay area newborn photographer, I interact with many people in those first few weeks with their new babies. One thing everyone has in common: we could all use a little more help!

Recently, I had a conversation with Anathea at Bay City Doulas about how a postpartum doula can help support families in the Bay Area. Read the following Q&A for more!
